Ol' Dirty Bastard

Shame on you when you step through to...

Here are the lyrics:

(Disclaimer: these lyrics are not at all written in the proper bar format, this is something you have to expect when you download lyrics online)

I'm the one-man army Ason,
I've never been tooken out,
I keep M.C.'s lookin' out,
I drop science like girls be droppin' babies,
Enough to make a nigga go cra-a-azy,
Energy building, Takin' all types of medicine,
Your ass thought you were better than,Ason,
I keep planets in orbit,
While I be comin' with deeper and more shit,
Enough to make and bake and shake your ass and clock and take,
Rhymes good as a tasty cake, mix, this style, I'm masterin',
Niggas catchin' headaches, what, what? You need Aspirin,
This type of pain, you couldn't even kill with Midol,
Fuck around get sprayed with Lysol,
In your face like a can of mace, baby,
Is it burnin? Well, fuck it, now you're learnin',
How, I don't even like your motherfuckin' profile,
Give me my fuckin' shit, (Ch-ch...plow!)
Not seen and heard, no one knows, you forget,
Niggas be quiet as kept,
Now you know nuthin', before you knew a whole fuckin' lot,
Your ass don't wanna get shot,
Alot of M.C.'s came through my showdown,
To watch me put your fuckin' ass lo-o-ow down,
As you can go, below zero, without a doubt I've never been tooken out,
By a nigga, who couldn't figure, yo by a nigga, who couldn't figure,
Yo by a nigga, who couldn't figure, how to pull a fuckin' gun triger,
Get the fuck outta here!
Nigga wanna get too close, to the upmost,
But I got stacks that'll attack any wack host,
"Introducin', yo fuck that nigga's name,"
My hip-hop drops on your head like ra-a-ain,
And when it rains it pours, cause my rhymes hardcore,
That's why I give you more of the raw,
Talent that I got will riz-ock the spot,
M.C.'s I be bur-r-rnin', bur-r-rnin' hot,
Woah ho ho! Hit me like slow-mo with the flow,
If I move too quick, oh, you just won't know,
I'm homicidal when you enter the target,
Nigga get up, act like a pig tryin to hog shit,
So I take yo ass out quick, the mics I had my nigga,
You can suck my dick,
If you wanna step to my motherfuckin' wreck,
(Ch-ch plow! plow! plow!) blown to death,
You got shot cause you knock knock knock,
"Who's there?" Another motherfuckin' hardrock,
Slackin' on your back cause raw's what you lack,
You wanna react? Bring it on back...

Shame on You, when you step through to, the Ol' Dirty Bastard,
Brooklyn Zoo! (X5)

What? My nigga...

Shame on ya...

Now compare this with the edited version.

Good Rap

Why can't rappers tell the news anymore?

And I mean "can't" not "don't." Think about it...

Daggering Ban

Recently, in Jamaica, songs celebrating "daggerin" have been banned from the air. Apparently, this dance which simulates sex acts has also been stimulating the masses and causing widespread pandemonium. Another victory against freedom of speech!

Renegade from duo RDX had this to say:

"Mi nuh have nothing else fi seh. Wi (RDX) just ago move forward and continue creating music. Wi nah go mek dem stop wi freedom of speech and expression."

Right on.

As long as the remnants of a colonial political infrastructure maintain the huge economic disparities between the rich and poor, I say let the children dagger! The children could be doing worse, and sadly in Jamaica or any other third world former colony, they often are doing worse.

Old Sad NY Times Article

For some reason today I remembered an old article about a talking parrot named Alex. He was able to form simple sentences to express his feelings. He died at age 31.

Here's an excerpt:

Even up through last week, Alex was working with Dr. Pepperberg on compound words and hard-to-pronounce words. As she put him into his cage for the night last Thursday, she recalled, Alex looked at her and said: “You be good, see you tomorrow. I love you.”

He was found dead in his cage the next morning, Dr. Pepperberg said.

I don't know why but I found this really sad.

Here's the article in full:

NYU Idiots

Stupid hippies...

A bunch of NYU kids had a protest decrying some bull shit causes. They made a list of thirteen disparate demands, which included scholarships for Palestinians, the end of Coke products at the university, and complete amnesty from the activists' illegal actions.

Buncha wusses. Real activists go to jail, kill people, and are willing to suffer for their cause.

I did enjoy the topless chicks though.

Wibble Woble NEW Rdx

Some older Dancehall hits and videos

This one was hot in 06/07.

Another oldie but goody...

Here's the dance...

Here's the song

Here's another...

There is no video so bear with this one you have to watch a crappy amateur bust moves. Sorry this one had the best sound.

Old Busy Signal Song and Dancehall rant.

This song came out on Busy Signal's album that was supposed to be released in 2008 but judging from the fact that the Radio stations are about a year and a half behind this could be big one day soon, especially since Mavado did a version of the riddim (Maka Riddim).

And what's up with Dj's only playing Mavado and Serani? If I hear the Unfinished riddim again without the Assassin version I'm gonna shit my pants.

I am happy that Erup is getting major airplay with "Click My Finger" from the Gear Box Rissim but wht about the Beenie verses??? No offense to Erup but Beenie shits on him on this one. I also think Erup owes a bit to Mavado on this one style-wise.

Dancehall is supposed to be about innovation, creativity, and lyrical dexterity among other things, so I give it to Beenie over this riddim but I guess the masses aren't ready for the hardcore-ness of his verse.

Animal abuse rules!

This is a traditional form of animal abuse that dates back thousands of years. I have to say it is one of my favorites; I rank it above seal clubbing but right below putting aluminum foil on a cat's feet.

The Headless Woman

This one is by one of my favorite director's, Lucretia Martel. She is Argentinian and many people find her movies very boring. I don't find her boring.

Some movies

There a many good movies that came out this year, most of which I haven't seen. I'm sure you all heard of The Wrestler and Slumdog Millionaire, the two everyone likes to mention in order to prove how hip he or she is, but here is another movie that's been out a while that you should probably check out.

It's your basic Dangerous Minds, Lean on Me, Freedom Writers, To Sir With Love, etc, new teacher in bad school movie except this one is in modern day France so you get to see a whole new type of hopeless wayward youth.

Oh yeah, it won the Palme d'or at Cannes.
